Make A Wish was a huge success this year. As always, a great turnout with zero dull moments. I arrived in Houston on Friday with hopes of a hotel and food, but like all great trips none of that was at hand. We were able to skate downtown Houston until three am, when our hotel reservation was finally confirmed.

Once I got familiar with everyone, I got the chance to take photos of the skaters that had already arrived. Cody McEntire showed up before any other pros, doing lengthy crooked grinds, and arguably the best 360 flip to fakie Texas has to offer.

While a lot of great skating did go down, the events being held outside the park were just as crazy. Flipping hammers in the air, a paintball sling shot, and of course some fire waffles led to an overall killer event.

A good portion of the DFW area skaters came out to the contest this year to show their support and skate this sick park. Eric Ostos was there killing the rail and ledge. By that time, the park had so many people barging it that the shots were thin.

Taylor Bray was another local head that showed up. I was able to snap this shot before the park was splitting at the seams.

It turned out to be an exciting event with plenty of great skateboarding. Texas skaters from all over came out to show their support, and made this an experience that I will never forget.  Can't wait until next year boys! -Shane Smith
